Child Safety Standards

Last updated: 31 July 2026

Altura Society has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to, how we prevent CSAE on our platform, and how anyone — member or not — can report it to us.

Altura Society is an adults-only service

Membership of Altura Society is restricted to people aged 18 and over. This is stated in our Terms of Service and enforced at admission: every member is admitted individually, by application or by nomination from an existing member, and no account is created without that review. We do not operate an open sign-up, we do not market to minors, and we do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to hold an account.

If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we terminate it and delete the associated personal information.

What is prohibited

The following are prohibited on Altura Society without exception, in posts, profiles, events, direct messages, uploaded files, and links:

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form, real or generated. Sexualised depictions of minors, including drawings, animation, AI-generated imagery, and text. Grooming, solicitation, sextortion, or any attempt to make contact with a minor for a sexual purpose. Trafficking of minors, or advertising, facilitating, or seeking access to a child for sexual exploitation. Links, invitations, or instructions directing anyone to CSAE material or communities hosting it. Normalising, glorifying, or advocating for sexual interest in minors.

Any of these results in immediate and permanent termination of membership without refund, preservation of the account and its content for law enforcement, and a report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and, where applicable, to the relevant national authority.

How we prevent CSAE

Admission is individual and reviewed by a human. Membership is paid, which raises the cost of throwaway accounts, and each member is tied to a verified email address and a payment record held by our payment processor.

All content posted in the feed, in events, in profiles, and in direct messages is subject to our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, which prohibit the conduct described above. Reports are reviewed by a human member of our team.

Because Altura Society is an adults-only professional community with no minor-facing surfaces, no public content, no discovery by non-members, and no ability for a non-member to contact a member, the exposure surface for CSAE is small. That is not a reason for complacency, and the standards on this page apply in full regardless.

How to report

In the app and on the website: every post, profile, event, and direct message thread carries a report control. Reports of child safety concerns are routed to our team as a priority and are reviewed by a human.

By email, from anyone, member or not: alturaofficial@proton.me

We aim to acknowledge child safety reports within 24 hours and to act on confirmed reports immediately. You do not need to be a member to report. You do not need to give your name.

Do not send suspected CSAM to us. Describe where it is — a link, a username, a seat number, a message — and we will retrieve and preserve it ourselves. Forwarding the material itself may be unlawful in your jurisdiction.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

Reporting to authorities

Where we confirm or reasonably suspect CSAE on our platform, we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline, and to law enforcement where required or appropriate. We preserve the relevant account data and content in line with our legal obligations and cooperate with lawful requests from investigating authorities.

We comply with all applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions in which we operate, including US federal reporting obligations.
